Kyle Hendricks and the Cubs went into last night, looking to sweep the Cards for the second time in just over a month. Mission accomplished. Full Story »
A couple of things I can't let go of in this story.
1. Regarding David Ortiz. Why do athletes/celebrities continue to put themselves in harms way by going out to places that are just looking for trouble to happen? I have yet to hear of anyone famous getting shot or beat up at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse at 7:00 PM.
2. I know it is cool to hate on national TV coverage of baseball. Fans only want to hear local broadcasters telling them how great everyone on the team is and that the team is the best in baseball of all time. Well get over it. The ESPN Sunday night baseball crew is excellent, except for A-Rod who is awful and would be on local coverage too.
3. Any fan who doesn't think that Cody Bellinger is going to run away with the MVP vote is dreaming. He is having an historic season and is putting up numbers that are comparable with the all time greats in baseball. It's cute that you want "your guy" to win, forget it for this year. This race is over.
